Basement Waterproofing Questions answered by Anthony Reick, a Minneapolis landscape contractor who has been solving wet basement problems for over 30 years.
Hello. I’m Tony Reick from AAA Reick’s Waterproofing. I’ve lived in Minnesota all my life and worked in the Metro area for the last 25 years.
Q: Tony, why is it after a rain, I find water on my basement floor?
A: Well it’s due to the grading around the foundation of your home. You should really take a look on the outside of your home to find out what the problem is.
Q: My home’s older, does that have anything to do with it?
A: Yeah. Quite often older homes are the ones that leak the most but even homes that were built as early as 2000 can leak.
Q: How does your company waterproof my basement?
A: We work from the outside of the home versus the inside. We work with the grade around the foundation of the home to make sure that water rolls properly away from the home versus rolling back into the basement.
Q: What about those Indoor Pump Systems?
A: The indoor pump systems, really are like putting just a quick fix band-aid on it because they allow water to get down into the basement and then they pump it out.
Q: Why is your service better than others?
A: Well, what we do by working from the outside of the home, is really fixing the root of the problem; finding out, pinpointing where the problem is coming from and then working on the outside of the home. There is no need to tear up the concrete and move the stairs and disconnect the utilities downstairs and bust up all that concrete.
It’s really not necessary when the problem is on the outside of the house.
So you know, what I recommend is calling AAA Reick’s Waterproofing today and I will come up personally and take a walk around the exterior of your home and I will show you where your problem comes is and will come up with a solution to fix it.
